Up on the Roof

Our last stop was a trip upstairs to the Rooftop Garden. Even though it was a little windy up there, we were able to see a spectacular view of downtown Chicago and the outside perspective of the Butterfly Haven. Such a cool place!!

Emilyn Makes a Friend

The highlight of the morning was when this HUGE, beautiful, blue butterfly decided to land on Emilyn's ankle. Needless to say, she wasn't too happy about it, but when Ms. Kim showed her how harmless the butterfly was, she warmed up to the idea...

Butterflies!!

Next up was the Judy Istock Butterfly Haven, which boasts 75 species of butterflies!! It's a 2,700 square foot greenhouse, and the butterflies literally land on you! Here are some pics of the girls taking it all in...

The Heebie-Jeebies

This morning Charlie and I met up with Emilyn and her Mommy, Ms. Kim, to check out the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, here in Chicago. We tried to capture the cutest pic of Charlie and Em holding hands, but every time we'd go to snap the pic, they'd run away giggling!!

We spent a little time in the "Mysteries of the Marsh" exhibit, checking out all of the "fishies" and bugs (including some huge cockroaches!!) and got a major case of the heebie-jeebies. Kim and I decided that we are definitely "Moms of Girls" vs. "Moms of Boys"!!
