Magic, Mirth, and Mischief!!

So before Vann and Charlie came along, my biggest obsession/addiction in life was makeup. Seriously, if it meant I had to eat pb & j's until payday so I could make a trip to Sephora, I would do it. I do still love me some Sephora, don't get me wrong...I just don't get there as often as I used to.

However, one thing Auntie Em and I look forward to every winter is MAC Holiday Palette time. Limited edition lipglass/eye shadow/etc. and it is so much fun and really gets me into the holiday spirit. I just got my postcard last week and am making my appointment!!

Etsy

Oh, I just LOVE Etsy.com. I've blogged about it a million times before...it's a website devoted to all things handmade. It is overwhelming at first...there is so much to look through, so I often go off of recommendations and browse through respected seller's favorites.

This darling Christmas dress is from icandie (formerly pishposhgirls) and I can't wait to see it in person...

And a few other things I am thinking about (or just swooning over)...

Twist of Lime Boutique...

LOVE the bell ruffles!!

Gracious May...

Aren't these just DARLING??

Little Noel...

I am now on the hunt for anything with a cute penguin on it...

Fancy!

I am so geeked about this gorgeous wool coat I bought Charlie with rewards at Baby Gap...perfect for church and any "fancy" occasions we have this winter...

A Tutu Playdate

Yesterday I kept Emi Sue for a few hours while Ms. Kim got her hair done. These two are the best of friends...truly, they hardly EVER pick on each other and always have a ball. Of course, when Vann got home he got them ALL stirred up and these pictures are the result. That's what Daddies do, right?? Come home and wind the kids up so they crash out at 7:30 pm??

Charlie loves her Emi Sue...

The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today, October 8th...

Outside my window...It is quiet. After two nights of insomnia and poor sleep, Vann and I went to bed at 10 pm sharp last night...it feels good to be rested and up before everyone else...

I am thinking...that time passes so quickly.

I am thankful for...the opportunity to be able to stay at home with my kids.

From the kitchen...Braised Chicken and Vegetables from the crockpot today! Last night I made a Halloween funfetti cake. Let me just say, it is far easier to make a cake out of the box than from scratch...but I'm sure all of you know that already. Just three ingredients?? THIS I can do!

I am wearing...my pj's.

I am creating...an updated address list for our baby announcements. We are taking the plunge and doing labels this time instead of writing them all out...I know, a novel idea, right??

I am going...to meet Ms. Lauren and Georgia for a coffee/tea date and some window shopping on Armitage. I am TRYING to be good about buying too far ahead for the holidays. Part of the fun is getting to shop when it's festive out, and I really want to wait until November to do most of it.

I am reading...still nada.

I am hoping...that I score some great deals at the big St. Alphonsus kid's consignment sale this weekend! Our tradition is to get there super-early and be the first people in line!!

Around the house...it looks like a bomb blew up. It usually takes us a week to unpack from a vacation. Not too mention the mounds of laundry that need to be done...winter coats, etc. that need to be brought up from storage...summer clothes put away...lots to do this weekend!!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Vann has Charlie on Saturday so I can hit the sale and then he and a friend are picking up our new chair, yay!!!! Fingers crossed that our cats will leave it alone...Marathon Sunday Vann is going to cheer on a co-worker and Charlie and I will stay home to get some things done around here...and then Monday, Vann has the day off!!

Here is a picture I am sharing...Two Peas in a Pod...
